I’m Trying

As we start anew – a new church year, or perhaps a new school year – there will be initiatives and programs, successes and failures. Can we choose the lens through which we look at these things? What might be the healthiest lens?

Hembree Park Service

Join us at Roswell’s Hembree Park pavilion for an end of the church year service. Feel free to bring some food and drink for a picnic afterwards.

UUMAN Rites of Passage

Join us for our annual Rites of Passage service. We will honor our Coming of Age youth as they bridge to Youth Group and our senior Youth as the bridge to Young Adults.

Slowly But Surely

Poet Mario Benedetti writes, “The future’s coming slowly but surely… slowly but swiftly, like a dim still unnamed star.”  What could this mean for us? This sermon was purchased by Jennifer Ratcliffe at this year’s Harvest Moon Service Auction.

UU Celebration in Song

On May 5, 1819, Rev. William Ellery Channing gave his “Unitarian Christianity” sermon that became pivotal in the creation of the American Unitarian Association. This morning the Chalice Choir will commemorate this in song.

Flower Communion

The Flower Communion, created in 1923 by Unitarian minister Norbert Capek of Prague, Czechoslovakia, is an annual ritual that celebrates peace, beauty, human uniqueness, diversity, and community. Please bring a few flowers to share.

A New Age of Exploration

It is thought that the age of exploration is over; that all lands that can be known are known. We think we are at the apex of evolution and modernity and believe that exploration is a thing of the past. How can we usher in a new age of exploration?

The Church of the Mulligan

A “Mulligan” in golf is a do-over. It’s your chance to, without penalty, try again when your shot goes into the next fairway, into an unforgiving patch of poison ivy, etc. This is a very good rule. How can we apply this to our work at UUMAN?

The World Needs You…Yes You!

By definition, in a completely interdependent, interconnected universe, we all have a role to play.

What is our role supposed to be? Might there be a role destined for us? Can we discover it?

This will be a New Member service.

Transgender Day of Visibility (March 31).

The Festival of Holi

Holi is the Hindu “Festival of Colors” (sometimes called the “Festival of Love”). It celebrates the arrival of spring and the ultimate triumph of good over evil.

What can we learn from this holiday?

This service is in-person at the UUMAN campus. If you wish to attend remotely, and to have the ability to chat with others online or to submit Joys and Sorrows in real-time, it can be livestreamed from our YouTube channel as well.
