Sunday, July 12 – The Hell We Do

This title debuted on September 9, 2001. I was to deliver the same sermon again two weeks later. Never have I had to rewrite so much so quickly. Religious liberals have been accused of minimiz-ing what traditional theology calls “the problem of evil”. Although we may frame the matter a little differently, it’s very much on our minds, especially lately. The church murders in Charleston, South Carolina (my home state) prompted the fourth revision of The Hell We Do since September 11, 2001.
