Sunday, December 20 – A Solstice Walk

“The gloom of the world is but a shadow.
Behind it, yet within our reach, is joy.
Take joy.” – from an anonymous Italian blessing

Join us this Sunday to hear guest speaker, the Rev. Michelle Boshears, lead UUMAN on a guided meditation in her sermon, “A Solstice Walk.” The Rev. Boshears, also known as Dawnwalker, is an Ordained Circle minister and retired Army officer. She is a wife, mother of three (including our own Jen Saltzman) and owner/operator of Pine Circle Farm in Grovetown, Georgia. She is a member of Circle’s Military Ministry Team, Training Program Director for Circe’s Minister Training Program and assists in coordinating the Pagan Leadership Institute and Warrior Spirit Center at Pagan Spirit Gathering. In keeping with the theme of winter solstice, our congregational hymns will focus on yule: “In the Bleak Midwinter,” “Has Sumer Come, Now, Dawning,” and “Deck the Hall.” The Chalice Choir’s anthem, “Carols Around” is a blend of Christmas carols all folded into one piece; in addition, Marielle and Huu Mai will sing “A Christmas Like This” during our offertory. Come sing, be with friends, and help UUMAN celebrate light this Sunday.
